Aleix Espargaró was the second fastest in the first free practice session of the Qatar MotoGP Grand Prix – the only dry one yesterday at Losail. And, despite it not being representative of race conditions, it was an encouraging result.
The Aprilia rider confirmed his satisfaction with yesterday’s performance, emphasizing that his time was good as it was done on a race tyre:
– I’m happy. In the first session I was a bit ease in the beginning because I did a really big highside in the test. But then in the last run I enjoyed a lot, the bike was looking good. I did 1m52.5s/1m52.6s I think and we finished second. It’s a quite fast lap time with the race tyre actually. I’m happy and I’m ready.
