Last year, the MotoGP title was contested between Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) and Jorge Martín (Pramac/Ducati) until the last race. This week, the two dominated the test in Sepang, finishing in the top two positions on the timesheets.
Will it be a two-way fight for the title again between the Spanish and Italian riders? ‘I don’t know. I’m focused on myself, trying to improve my skills, my riding style, and I think the rest will come. I guess that also the experience from the last season will help a lot. Hopefully I’m the one who can try again to beat Pecco’, the 2023 runner-up said.
Asked if he feels prepared to beat Bagnaia, Martín replied: ‘Yes, I feel ready for everything. But I think we don’t know yet. This test is difficult to analyze because a lot of riders have a great pace, but we don’t know exactly the tyres. I think it won’t be only Pecco and me – there will be much more riders’.
