Hero Motocorp is preparing to enter the competitive premium scooter segment with the long-awaited Xoom 160, which was initially unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Expo in February 2024. Despite expectations of a launch last year, development delays forced the company to postpone its introduction to the market. However, recent sightings of the model undergoing tests suggest that the official launch may be imminent.
The images captured show the Xoom 160 partially camouflaged, with the front and rear fenders covered, but revealing a robust and bold design. The scooter features a chunky front apron with a small beak, referring to an adventurous style often associated with ADV scooters. Also noteworthy is an angular double LED headlight, accompanied by a high windshield and pronounced sides. The central column, which accommodates the fuel tank, is flanked by long, sloping footrests for greater comfort. The elongated rear ends sharply, providing a spacious seat. The 14-inch wheels add to the vehicle’s imposing appearance.
Among the details visible in the spy images are the digital instrument panel, a multi-function button, Hero’s characteristic i3S button, and the fuel filler cap positioned on the central column. In addition to the storage space under the seat, the Xoom 160 also includes a closed glove compartment at the front. The engine will be a 156cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder with an approximate output of 14 horsepower and 13.7Nm of torque. It will also be equipped with a smart key and a keyless ignition system.
With these recent images appearing ahead of the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, it is speculated that the official launch could take place during the event.
