The Iron Dames, trailblazers in endurance racing, are set to embark on a new chapter in their storied journey by partnering with Manthey Racing for the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). With the iconic Porsche 911 LMGT3.R in their arsenal, this marks a significant shift from their longstanding relationship with Iron Lynx.
A Bold New Direction
Since 2018, the Iron Dames have been synonymous with Iron Lynx, achieving milestones that solidified their status as one of endurance racing’s most inspiring teams. However, their 2025 campaign will see them align with Manthey Racing, a powerhouse in Porsche endurance racing.
This collaboration follows a promising run in the 2024 European Le Mans Series, where the Dames competed with a Manthey-prepared Porsche 911 LMGT3.R. The partnership proved fruitful, offering a glimpse of what’s to come as the Dames aim to leave behind a challenging season with the Lamborghini Huracán LMGT3 EVO2, plagued by reliability issues despite securing two pole positions.
Rising Star Joins Proven Duo
Celia Martin, a rising talent in endurance racing, will join Iron Dames veterans Michelle Gatting and Rahel Frey in the 2025 campaign. Martin’s rapid ascent began with her debut in the Michelin Le Mans Cup earlier this year, and her inclusion represents a dream realized.
“When I started my journey in motorsport, I always hoped to compete in top-level endurance racing,” Martin said. “To join the Iron Dames in the WEC with Manthey and a Porsche is a dream come true. I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity.”
Manthey’s Winning Pedigree
Manthey Racing’s credentials in endurance racing are second to none. In 2024, they clinched both the LMGT3 Drivers’ and Teams’ championships and secured the historic first LMGT3 victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Their expertise and resources promise to elevate the Iron Dames’ program to new heights.
“We’ve always admired the Iron Dames project and are excited to collaborate with them,” said Nicolas Raeder, managing director of Manthey Racing. “With our combined efforts, we aim to reach a new level of performance and bring a Porsche in pink to the grid in 2025.”
A Legacy with Porsche
The move marks a return to Porsche machinery for the Iron Dames, who enjoyed previous success in the LMGTE era, including their sole WEC victory. The end-of-season Rookie Test after the 8 Hours of Bahrain offered a preview of the team’s chemistry with the Manthey Porsche, setting the stage for an ambitious 2025 season.
Iron Lynx’s New Path
Meanwhile, Iron Lynx is also undergoing a transformation, pivoting to a Mercedes-AMG program for the WEC as Lamborghini exits the championship. This reshuffling adds another layer of intrigue to the evolving endurance racing landscape.
Looking Ahead to 2025
With their new partnership, seasoned drivers, and the proven Porsche 911 LMGT3.R, the Iron Dames are poised for a strong showing in 2025. As they aim to add to their legacy and inspire the next generation, the pink Porsche promises to be a fan favorite on the grid.
The countdown to a new era begins, and all eyes will be on the Iron Dames as they continue their quest to redefine endurance racing.
