The on-track and off-track tensions with Valentino Rossi earned Marc Márquez the dislike of Italian fans. In September, the rider won the San Marino GP, and the boos while he was on the podium were clearly audible.
However, in 2025, the Spaniard may be viewed differently in Italy, as he will represent Ducati’s factory team, one of the country’s iconic brands.
Quoted by Marca newspaper, Márquez emphasized his ambition to perform well at the Italian GP, also assuring that his relationship with Italian fans has improved:
– We will see if next year I can achieve a good result in Mugello in front of the home fans. In the end, the relationship with Italian fans has had its difficult moments, but it’s improving all the time. I’m riding for an Italian manufacturer, and I’m sure there will be a good relationship.
