This Saturday, Jorge Martín was the standout rider at the French MotoGP Grand Prix. The Prima Pramac man secured pole position and dominated the Sprint race at Le Mans, beating Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) by 2.280s.
The Spanish rider told the official broadcast that his approach was to isolate himself at the front, and after Marco Bezzecchi’s incident (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati), he tried to stay calmer:
– I’m so happy! The pace was stunning. I knew that starting from first the strategy was to pull away. It was difficult, because Marco was putting also great laps, but then when I saw his crash I just tried to keep my constant pace, trying to make it to the end quite relaxed.
Martín looked ahead to the main race and didn’t forget to address the fans at the venue: ‘Tomorrow it will be a long race, with unpredictable weather. Today we’ve got the win, we have to enjoy. Thank you to this crowd, because winning in places like this is amazing’.
