In his second year with Repsol Honda in MotoGP, Joan Mir experienced his worst season yet, marked by multiple retirements and underwhelming performances on the grid’s least competitive bike.
Speaking during the Honda Racing Season Finale, the 2020 World Champion emphasized the ongoing efforts to close the gap with rivals:
– It was a difficult season. I’m still not able to do what I want on the bike, but we are working very hard. We are in that process of moving up and getting closer to our rivals. But there’s still some work to do.
Mir also said: ‘HRC and ourselves are doing a good job, I think. We are getting closer. But we still have to push to be where we want next year. […]. We always try to be competitive at this level. It’s not easy, but we are trying’.
