In September, Yamaha confirmed that they are developing a new V4 engine for MotoGP. However, there is no set date for its introduction in races or even for testing, as the development process is still ongoing.
Ahead of this weekend’s Japanese GP, Yamaha’s home round, Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha) was asked during a press conference if he expects to receive updates about the V4 engine.
In response, the French rider stated: ‘I’m not really focused on this engine, because now it’s the present. We have to give our best to feel the improvement’.
Quartararo highlighted that Yamaha is showing commitment in other areas of the bike, particularly with constant updates to the chassis:
– I think Yamaha had four different chassis in five races, so it’s already a big thing that in the past we never used to see. And hopefully this weekend the new chassis helps with the rear grip.
