Jorge Martín could become MotoGP World Champion for the first time in his career this weekend at the Solidarity GP of Barcelona. How are the emotions for the Prima Pramac rider with the title so close?
The Spaniard said that, despite the inherent nervousness, he is approaching this Grand Prix with a lot of calm, admitting that having his family and friends around helps:
– For sure, I’m a bit more nervous, but it’s completely normal. But I want to focus like a normal weekend. Actually, I’m really calm; my family is here, my friends are here, so I can relax with them in the evening and I can disconnect a bit more than maybe in the Asian tour. So, I’m happy about this.
However, Martín admitted that the conditions at Montmelo make the task more difficult: ‘I think the most difficult thing is that we are racing in Montmeló at a time that we have never raced [here]. So, we are not used to Montmeló in these conditions, so it’s a bit more difficult: less grip, less confidence, and maybe this is a bit worse in my position’.
