Francesco Bagnaia fell short of securing a third consecutive MotoGP title, despite claiming victory in 11 of the 20 Grands Prix this season.
Even without the championship, the Ducati rider told the site GPOne.com that he was proud of the season:
– I don’t think there is anything to complain about in what we did. It was a fantastic season, and we have to be proud. I’m extremely proud of my team and Ducati as a whole.
In Bagnaia’s view, this outcome also highlighted Ducati’s sportsmanship: ‘Sometimes losing helps in other ways, because if I had won the title, you definitely wouldn’t have seen the sportsmanship that Ducati has always shown in this world. And that has been criticized over the past three years’.
