Miguel Oliveira ended the MotoGP Catalan GP in fifth. The rider from CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team was in the podium places in the first laps, but he wasn’t able to keep Prima Pramac riders behind – being overtaken by Jorge Martín and Johann Zarco.
The Portuguese rider said that, after a competitive start, he couldn’t keep the same pace: ‘It was a good one. I knew I would have eventually some problems with the front tyre, which happened. I was very competitive for the first seven, eight laps. Then, lap by lap, I started to get a worse and worse feeling. I started to try to hold Martín behind, then Zarco, but I just couldn’t make it’.
On tyres performance, Oliveira stated: ‘The rear started to drop a little bit lap by lap and the front just started to close on the right side. Massive graining again, but at least the tyre lasted longer than yesterday. So, it was a little bit better’.
Regarding the tyre pressure with which he started the race, the Almada-born rider said: ‘It was low. After a couple of laps I was already up and I stayed there for long. So, I didn’t have the warning for the low pressure. So, it was perfect’.
