Two days before the end of the pre-season, Fabio Quartararo is pleased with the progress of the Yamaha YZR-M1, feeling he has a more effective bike for direct battles on the track. However, he also knows that there is still a long way to go.
After the last day of testing in Sepang, the Frenchman mentioned that there are improvements in certain aspects with the new bike, but there are still shortcomings in performance during qualifying, and it remains impossible to compete for the top positions:
– I think it’s slightly better because we got a little bit more top speed, I think we can keep the front bike a little bit more closer. So, to fight I think is going to be a bit better. But still we have to find this qualifying because I’m a rider who wants to fight for the top positions and right now we can’t. But I’m pretty sure that we’ll find our way to be at the top soon.
