When Toprak Razgatlioglu signed with BMW to attack the 2024 season in the World Superbike, many were completely caught off guard and saw the move as a huge mistake. For that reason too, the rider admits he felt the need to ‘prove something’ with the team, and a better way to achieve it was, in fact, impossible.
The Turk explained to the Spanish newspaper Marca that he had a complicated season, especially in terms of mental pressure due to the pressure he put on himself, even during the preseason. And if everything was going well on the bike, Razgatlioglu admits that he felt he still had to prove something:
– It wasn’t an easy season because, although the preseason was normal, I was always telling myself that I had to prove something for signing with BMW. In the end, I’m happy because I showed everyone the power of BMW and mine.
The rider praised the German manufacturer, which was highly motivated to achieve the best results, and the effort was made across the board, with the team always committed to giving the rider the best conditions: ‘I’m satisfied because it was a team effort: I worked hard and BMW was very hungry to win the title. It was a great job with the factory, because I asked for new parts and they brought them the following week’.
