After just one season in MotoGP, Álex Rins bid farewell to LCR Honda this Sunday as he moves on to become an official rider for Yamaha next year. The highlight was his win at the GP of the Americas, which was Honda’s only win in 2023.
Asked if he feels that his victory in Austin might be forgotten at Honda, the Spaniard denied it, believing that the result was duly recognized, and he felt supported:
– No, no. Let’s say luckly I was the only to win this year with Honda. This is super nice. We did it in a satellite team – this is so important. I think they will have a lot of consideration. When I came back I felt a bit more support from Ken [Kawauchi]. This is true, more than before. But it is what it is. I’m proud of that and now, a new chapter: in two days I will test the Yamaha bike. I’m excited because we come back in a factory team, with more support. I’m so happy about that.
