Brad Binder couldn’t make it into the top ten in the MotoGP French Grand Prix practice session. In yesterday’s afternoon session, the Red Bull KTM rider crashed three times and ended up in 17th place.
The South African commented: ‘I spent a lot of time on the back of scooters, coming back. […]. Every time I went to push, I fell off. So it was a little bit of a mess to be honest. I was feeling really good and I was quite fast every time I completed laps, I was always amongst the front. Unfortunately I had my first crash, then I had to put in tyres straightaway because I lost the bike of course. Then I used the tyres all the way through, I put in new tyres at the end and then on my first lap pushing I crashed in the last corner. So it was not a good day for us’.
Despite the incidents, Binder has a good feeling with the bike and said that the reason for the crashes is understood: ‘At the end of the day the feeling is really okay, it’s not bad at all. It’s just we need to adjust a little bit a couple of things because I had the exact same crash three times. But we understand why, so that’s good’.
Regarding what may have caused the crashes, the rider stated: ‘Well, it looks like a little bit my line. I was entering the second-to-last corner later than all my teammates. That probably doesn’t help. So I’m hoping that’s the reason’.
