Jorge Martín achieved third place on the grid for the races at the Portuguese MotoGP Grand Prix this Saturday. The Prima Pramac Racing rider once again found himself in contention for the top positions, trailing only behind Enea Bastianini (Ducati) and Maverick Viñales (Aprilia) in Saturday’s qualifying at Portimão.
In the flash interview with the official broadcast, Martín considered the objective fulfilled but anticipated challenges for the races. He admitted feeling stronger for the main race than for the Sprint race, where he usually excels:
– The target was to be in the front row today. So I’m happy with the first target already done. Now it will be tough; the pace is good, but there are two or three riders who can battle for the victory. Let’s see. We need to understand well because with the medium I feel really, really good, with a really used tyre. With the soft I’m still struggling a bit. I feel stronger for tomorrow than for today, but hopefully we can do it.
