Ai Ogura will be one of the rookies in MotoGP in 2025. He will be with Trackhouse MotoGP, a team that does not pressure him to deliver the best results immediately.
The team principal, Davide Brivio, has vast experience with rookies and told GPOne.com that adaptation times vary:
– Everyone has their own pace, there are riders who can be fast immediately, while others need more time. In Ai’s case, we will have to see. When I brought [Maverick] Viñales and [Álex] Rins to MotoGP after just one year, many said it wasn’t fair, but they were fast immediately. Ai arrives as the Moto2 champion after four years in that category, so it’s the ideal scenario.
Regarding Ogura, the Italian expects a calm approach from the rider: ‘From what I have seen, he does things step by step, he wants to understand without doing crazy things. I expect a smooth approach, I don’t see him in a rush to show something, and I always tell newcomers: in the first year, you just have to play with the bike, understand it, and then we will see in the second [year]. In the debut season, sometimes you see signs, I hope it’s a good learning year to gather everything for 2026’.
