The CEO of the Borgo Panigale factory, Claudio Domenicali, doesn’t hide the enormous importance that engineer Gigi Dall’Igna has within the team, being one of those responsible for the brand’s success in recent seasons.
‘Gigi is a star and I hope he stays with us forever, but I don’t discard a possible big offer from Honda’ he said in an interview with the newspaper ‘la Repubblica’.
Domenicali then spoke about the secrets of the transalpine brand: ‘Ducati is like Coca-Cola in that nobody knows the formula for our success and the knowledge is shared by many people. Six of our eight riders have won at least one grand prix this year and the title was decided in the last race, a race that was speculative. We can’t ask for more from this World Championship’ he emphasised, dismissing any similarities between Ducati’s dominance in MotoGP and Max Verstappen’s Red Bull in Formula 1.
