Trackhouse Racing is embarking on its first season in the MotoGP World Championship, starting with a current-model Aprilia RS-GP in the hands of Miguel Oliveira. Raúl Fernández still has last year’s version, but regardless, the team’s plans are ambitious, aiming to compete for significant results.
In the future, they will have to face the Aprilia factory team. Despite the differing status between them, Aprilia Racing’s CEO, Massimo Rivola, assured that he expects to see Trackhouse Racing surpass the factory team:
– The emergence of Trackhouse is a huge opportunity, the best among those of any other manufacturer. They are a very ambitious team. I can’t wait for Trackhouse to beat us because that would mean we could have done better. If you want to grow, competition is the basis of everything.
Regarding Trackhouse’s importance to Aprilia, the Italian explained: ‘For us, being able to count on Trackhouse is very valuable. Their influence will be key in the development of the RS-GP’.
In the first two rounds of the season, Miguel Oliveira achieved the best results for the American team by finishing 15th in Qatar and ninth in the Portuguese GP. These are, for now, the only points earned, as Fernández retired from both races.
