Jorge Martín finished as the MotoGP World Championship runner-up with Prima Pramac last year, but he remains with the satellite team and did not secure a spot in the factory team for 2024. His goal is to reach there next year, despite many other contenders – such as Enea Bastianini, Marco Bezzecchi, and even Marc Márquez.
The #89 stated in a press conference that, despite his ambition for the future, he feels in a good position for 2024: ‘I’m super happy for sure. I think I’m in the best… well, maybe not the best seat possible at the moment, for sure I would have signed for the next two seasons in Ducati factory, but is not on me. They know what I want and it’s my first target for the future. But for the moment I feel super good here and it’s a great place to fight this season. Then, let’s see the next one’.
When asked about who he considers his main competitors in the fight for the vacant spot in Ducati in 2025, Martín replied: ‘I don’t want to speak a lot about it. I think I am my own opponent for that seat. I will try to do my best and try to achieve it. That’s it’.
