Stefan Bradl raced in MotoGP, and now he is Honda test rider for many years. But he believes his polite demeanor may not have served him well in the high-stakes world of motorsport.
In an interview with GPOne.com, the German rider addressed being replaced by Cal Crutchlow at LCR Honda in 2016, saying:
– I had a very good upbringing. That’s why I always wanted to please everyone. But with this attitude in this sport, you fall short, because you forget about yourself and think about other things instead of asserting a healthy «f**k you» attitude.
Bradl raced for LCR Honda between 2012 and 2014 before taking on his current role as a test rider for Honda. Reflecting on his career, he admitted his personality was a hindrance: ‘In terms of riding and physical abilities, I could have met HRC and LCR’s expectations; I had the skills to do so. But I was too shy and worried too much’.
