Honda has been going through tough times in MotoGP since 2020, with its results and performance worsening considerably – so much so that it is currently the weakest constructor on the grid.
Given the situation, there were even concerns that the constructor might pull out – similar to what Suzuki did at the end of 2022. But that is not a solution for the Golden Wing brand.
Team Director Alberto Puig made it very clear to the official MotoGP website that Honda will not throw in the towel or give up the racing spirit it has always had – focusing instead on returning to success:
– This is a winning team, and we are used to win. Sometimes you have to go through a painful process, and this is what we are doing. But Honda’s spirit is that we never give up. The «DNA» of Honda has been racing for many years, and the spirit of racing is something that we will never give up. Our only target is to come back and to win again.
