Marc Márquez was outstanding in the MotoGP Thai GP, delivering an almost perfect round with two victories to start the season. Gigi Dall’Igna, Ducati Corse’s general manager, spared no praise for his new rider.
The Italian engineer took to LinkedIn to react: ‘A fast and decisive Marc Marquez masterfully imposed himself with a pace unmatchable by all the others, securing Pole Position, Sprint, Race and fast lap, demonstrating an incredible feeling: «Who could ask for anything more?»’.
In the main race, Marc Márquez did not always lead – he spent several laps behind his brother Álex (BK8 Gresini/Ducati), managing the race due to front tyre pressure. A strategy praised by Dall’Igna:
– In order to increase the front tyre pressure and to avoid the penalty regulation, he had to let his brother pass in front, immediately getting into his slipstream, trying to stay as close to the wheel as possible, despite all the risks that this entails for bike and rider, given the extremely high temperatures of the Thai track, finally gifting us with a magic victory that smacks of pure talent and supreme skill.
