The new season of the World Supersport Championship (WorldSSP) promises strong emotions with the return of familiar faces and the arrival of new talents in the paddock. With the motorsport season about to start, fans can expect a grid full of competitiveness and excitement.
Notable debuts and returns
Among the highlights of 2025 is the debut of Italian Michael Ruben Rinaldi in the category, after making his mark in the World Superbike Championship (WorldSBK). Another awaited return is that of Philipp Oettl, who returns to the WorldSSP grid after three seasons in the premier category. On the list of rookies, two 2024 champions stand out: Ana Carrasco, winner of the FIM Women’s Superbike World Cup, and Aldi Satya Mahendra, who won the Supersport 300 World Championship. Both will compete for the first time in the intermediate category, joining Stefano Manzi, the 2024 runner-up, in a fierce battle for the title.
Teams and bikes
The 2025 grid features a diverse mix of brands and teams. Yamaha, Ducati, MV Agusta, Triumph, Honda, and Kawasaki are the main manufacturers represented, with a variety of models ready to shine on the tracks. Yuki Okamoto and Stefano Manzi stand out, who will line up on the Yamaha YZF R9 for the prestigious Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing team. In Ducati, Philipp Oettl will compete for the Feel Racing WorldSSP Team, while Ana Carrasco will defend Honda’s colors on the CBR600RR, for the Honda Racing World Supersport team. In addition, there are new features such as Frenchman Corentin Perolari and Italian Raffaele De Rosa, both aboard the new QJMOTOR SRK 800 RR, in an auspicious debut for the Chinese brand QJMOTOR.

The grid includes a total of 32 riders from various nationalities, distributed across different teams and machines. Among veterans and young talents, everyone shares the goal of achieving the 2025 world championship title.
