One of the significant uncertainties in MotoGP for 2025 is the future of Prima Pramac Racing, which may either continue as Ducati’s satellite team or switch to Yamaha. Morbidelli’s future may hinge on this decision.
According to GP-Inside.com, if Pramac decides to join forces with Yamaha, it’s expected that the Italian rider will move to Pertamina Enduro VR46, thus continuing with a Ducati bike instead of returning to a YZR-M1 after his struggles until 2023.
Both current riders of Valentino Rossi’s team, Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi, are at the end of their contracts. Bezzecchi is strongly linked to a move to Aprilia. Therefore, Morbidelli would replace his compatriot and continue riding a Desmosedici GP.
After missing the pre-season due to an injury sustained at the end of January during training, Morbidelli has shown competitiveness with the Borgo Panigale bike. His results have been gradually improving, with his best finish of the season being sixth place at the Italian GP.
