The Austrian MotoGP Grand Prix, held last Sunday in Spielberg, was marked by the surprising performance of Pol Espargaró. The Spanish driver, who returned to the track after a long absence due to injury, finished the race in a respectable 11th place.
Francesco Guidotti, Team Manager at Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, was full of praise for Espargaró’s performance: ‘Pol did a great job and what he did this weekend was very useful for the team for the development. The result were also solid!’.
Guidotti also highlighted the difficulty of Espargaró’s feat, who recently changed his duties as a test rider to take a wildcard in Austria: ‘Moving from the microphone to the handlebar is not easy at this level’, highlighted the Team Manager, adding that this performance ‘also means the competitiveness of the bike is encouraging’.
This promising result from Espargaró not only demonstrates his resilience and talent as a rider, but also suggests that KTM continues to make significant progress in the development of its MotoGP bike.
The Austrian team will now have its sights set on the next round of the championship, where it will hope to capitalize on this positive result and the data collected during the weekend in Spielberg.
