Just a few days before the start of the 2024 MotoGP season, Francesco Bagnaia was honored in Italy this Friday – more specifically by the city of Pesaro, becoming an honorary citizen.
The decision to honor the Ducati rider had already been made in November 2022, but it is only now that the distinction has been officially awarded by the municipality’s president to the rider in an institutional ceremony.
Although he is originally from Turin, Bagnaia has been living in Pesaro since 2015, after joining the VR46 Riders Academy. Quoted by Sky Sport MotoGP, the two-time MotoGP world champion stated: ‘I love this city and I love the people of Pesaro, I have everything here. When I say I’m at home, for me now it’s Pesaro’.
