Brad Binder finished third in the Valencia MotoGP Grand Prix, being promoted after the race due to a penalty imposed on the second-place finisher, Fabio di Giannantonio (Gresini/Ducati).
The issue was irregular tyre pressure in the Italian rider’s bike. This year, the Red Bull KTM rider has been in the situation more than once where he lost positions after the race due to penalties, albeit in different contexts.
Following the incident, Binder showed solidarity with di Giannantonio, stating: ‘For me… I’ve lost through the season, it’s not fun. I’m sorry for DiGia, because it’s not fault of his own. I touched the green at least, so it makes a little bit easier to accept. I deserve this. For me, today I finished fourth’.
