The year 2025 holds a lot of promise in MotoGP, and after a year with just one rookie, this time there will be three. With a lot of competition and a long job ahead of him in terms of adaptation, Fermín Aldeguer admitted that his goal among the three is to be the strongest.
With the colors of Gresini Racing, Aldeguer will be making his debut in the highest category of motorcycling with a winning and outstanding bike, and it is focused on his work that he just wants to be, as he explained to GPOne: ‘[Expectations] are high, but it’s best not to pay attention or listen to others. It’s important to stay focused and do my job’.
He went on to admit that he’s aiming to be the best rookie in the category, even though he knows in advance that both Ai Ogura and Somkiat Chantra are targets to beat, but very valuable ones:
– My goal is to become rookie of the year, but I know I have to compete with riders of the caliber of Ogura, who is Moto2 champion, and Chantra. In any case, it will be important to watch the best and learn from them. Just racing together during the tests will be a good school.
Aldeguer will be favored from the start, as he will have the bike that won him the world title in 2024 at his disposal, while Ogura – Trackhouse Racing – will have the latest version of the Aprilia RS-GP at his disposal, and Chantra – LCR Honda – should have the 2024 Honda RC213V.
