Filippo Farioli led the first qualifying of the Moto3 Thai GP, securing one of the last four spots in Q2 at Buriram, along with Matteo Bertelle, Joel Esteban, and Stefano Nepa.
In Q1, Bertelle (Kopron Rivacold Snipers Team/Honda), Esteban (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar), Tatsuki Suzuki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP), and Nepa (LevelUp-MTA/KTM) held the qualifying positions after the first flying laps.
Meanwhile, rain was threatening, with a very dark sky over the circuit. With six minutes left, the same four riders remained in the top four, but shortly after, Nicola Carraro (LevelUp-MTA/KTM) moved into fourth, pushing Suzuki out.
However, everything changed in the final seconds. Farioli (SIC58 Squadra Corse/Honda) took the lead, beating Bertelle by 0.020s, while Esteban dropped to third and Nepa to fourth. Carraro ultimately fell to eighth. Thus, the final four riders qualifying for Q2 were determined.
