Pedro Acosta is the promising young rider making waves in MotoGP, being seen as one of those rare talents. Even his competitors are impressed by the qualities that the Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider is showing.
Fabio Quartararo didn’t take long to fight for podiums and victories when he moved up to the premier class in 2019, but he acknowledges that Acosta is doing even better and believes that the Spaniard could finish the season in the top three of the World Championship:
– In the same moment as now in the championship in my rookie year, I was much more far. So to be honest I think he can really be… I will tell you, on the podium at the end of the season.
In an interview with Crash.net, the 2021 champion also said about Acosta: ‘I think he’s one of the most talented riders I have ever seen. I’m not super old, but at least from what I see and the way he’s riding’.
What impresses Quartararo the most about Acosta? The Frenchman replied: ‘The facility he has to adapt to everything. The braking he is making in MotoGP right now is crazy! […]. It’s difficult to understand the front brakes of the MotoGP. And for him it was like natural, the way he slides. He’s a really talented rider and I think you can see that the way he rides is really free and he’s enjoying it’.
