Less than a week away from the first official tests for 2024, there is still at least one seat to be filled in the MotoGP paddock – specifically in the Honda factory team. Luca Marini is rumoured as the strongest candidate, which would leave a seat at Mooney VR46.
Fabio Quartararo was approached by the press about this unusual situation of uncertainty regarding riders so close to the start of next season’s work. The Monster Energy Yamaha rider believes that there will be news soon but admitted that it’s an uncommon delay:
– I remeber when I signed for Yamaha, my first factory contract, we decided in 2019 for 2020. So it was a long time ago. And now in four days there is nobody. They don’t know who is going to VR46 or I don’t know which team. It’s pretty logical what is gonna happen, but until is signed you never know. I think today or tomorrow we will know, but I think for my side contracts were and will always be respected.
