Fabio Di Giannantonio underwent surgery on his left shoulder this Saturday, which sidelines him from the final two rounds of the MotoGP season.
Pertamina Enduro VR46 announced in a statement that the procedure took place at Villa Stuart Clinic in Rome, under the guidance of Professor Alessandro Castagna, using arthroscopic techniques.
The surgery was successful, with an estimated recovery time of around three months – meaning Di Giannantonio should be ready to return to the track in time for February’s preseason tests in Sepang.
The Italian rider injured his left shoulder in a crash during the Austrian GP in August. He continued racing through the season until the Australian GP, but it was ultimately determined that surgery was necessary. To allow ample recovery time before the preseason, he had to miss both the Malaysian GP and the season finale.
