Fabio Di Giannantonio was on the brink of leaving MotoGP at the end of 2023, only to be saved at the last moment by the Pertamina Enduro VR46 team. This year, he justified the team’s choice with solid performances.
The rider was a consistent presence in the fight for the top ten, finishing the championship in tenth place. His best results were three fourth-place finishes – a notable achievement in a year when, apart from Marc Márquez, Ducati’s older-specification bikes faced some challenges.
Di Giannantonio’s primary rival was his teammate, Marco Bezzecchi. Despite high expectations following Bezzecchi’s third-place finish in last year’s championship, Di Giannantonio outperformed him by two positions in the standings.
In a post on VR46 Racing Team’s social media, Di Giannantonio assessed his 2024 season with a high rating, expressing only one regret:
– I’m going to give 8 out of 10, because I think my level of riding this year was has been quite high. I was really, really strong and consistent through all the season, but we always missed something to be on the podium. So, 8 out of 10.
