The Sprint race of the Qatar GP ended poorly for Fabio Di Giannantonio. The Pertamina Enduro VR46 rider suffered a dramatic crash that forced him to retire early in the race.
In a crash that he considers to be ‘quite strange’, describing that ‘was not a true highside on the outside, but more on the inside’, the Italian experienced some pain in his left foot – which eventually subsided.
At the time of the crash, Di Giannantonio was in the middle of the pack and narrowly avoided being hit – a situation he commented on saying: ‘When I was there I watch back and there were a lot of riders. So it was a scary one, it’s always not so nice to be in the middle of the track. But luckly everybody saw me and everything was fine’.
