The qualification is a big problem for many riders and Enea Bastianini is suffering with that this year, and if usually he is very strong at the end of the races, starting a bit back is costing him many points, he believe.
After acknowledging that the qualifying is something he must improve on, Bastianini went further and said that this aspect is costing him a lot of points. still certain that there is a long season after to try to recover: ‘Every GP I lose five or six points, and that is a problem. We have to try to solve it in the second half of the season, there are still many points at stake and anything can happen’.
During the race overtaking doesn’t seem to be a problem for the italian, with some of those moments to be among his favourites in the German GP: ‘Without a doubt the two overtakes in the last corner, one on Marc [Márquez] and another on Morbidelli. I did a maneuver again that I hadn’t been able to do for a long time, this gives me more confidence’.
This season Bastianini is still looking to get a win, after being second for two times (in Portugal and Italy), along with more podiums at the United States and Netherlands.
