Riding a motorcycle is supposed to be fun, even for those who are taking their first steps. So it was with satisfaction that we rode for several days with a Voge 300AC, a small naked bike built with new riders in mind but still offering good moments of riding to someone with plenty of experience in these matters. It is sometimes frustrating to ride low-displacement models – sometimes even too expensive for what they are worth – and realize that they were not designed (or there was cost containment) for less experienced riders. I’m talking about brake levers with a poor feel and no adjustment, suspensions that fall short of expectations, etc. Fortunately, we found none of that in this Voge, which seems to have been really well thought out and built – even with its reference price – and we can only really point the finger at one aspect: a tall rider will not fit well on this bike! THE RANGE

The brand is not new here at Motociclismo, but we would like to remind you that Voge is the premium brand of the manufacturer Loncin, which has a lot of experience in engine manufacturing. At the moment, Voge has models in the Adventure, Naked, Classic, Scooter, and Electric segments, and if the current range is already very interesting, soon other models shown at the last edition of EICMA will arrive. Other good news: the five-year warranty that the brand now offers for the entire range and the fact that, for those who do not appreciate this 300AC for some reason, there are other models available that are quite similar. One of them is the 300ACX, which has the same single-cylinder engine but features spoke wheels, a single seat, and different aesthetic details in a more scrambler philosophy.

As for the 350AC, it has also already arrived on the market and is also a classic-looking naked bike, but it has a parallel twin-cylinder engine and has a series of components and overall finishes that already place it in a slightly more “premium” level compared to the smaller displacement models.

For newly licensed A2 riders, the motorcycle we have here has some great features: a power of 28.5 horsepower easy to control even for the least experienced, a low weight of 170 kg in running order (which actually seems much lower) and an accessible seat. Aesthetically, it catches the eye with its beautiful LED headlight, taillight, and turn signals, as well as the good appearance of the chassis, with inverted fork and two front brake discs with Bosch ABS (the brand also names the fuel injection system).

On the other hand, the instrumentation is very simple: we have a fuel level indicator, a partial trip meter, and even though we can change the background color, there isn’t even a clock, but there is a USB port. Dynamically, the liquid-cooled engine proves to be very fun! The transmission is much longer than that of the 300 Rally we tested last month, but it doesn’t lack power, although it prefers to run at medium/high speeds. We can ride in sixth gear from 3,500 rpm (at about 60 km/h), and it’s noticeable that it really wakes up after 6,500 rpm, allowing to quickly reach 130 km/h and even surpassing 150 km/h when pushed. Not bad! As for vibrations, sometimes annoying in single-cylinder engines, they don’t bother much and only appear at the higher revs of the tachometer. Another highlight is the very pleasant sound of the exhaust, which even emits some interesting pops during deceleration!

DYNAMICS AND DETAILS

In dynamic terms there is not much to say, except to praise! The inverted fork works very well and the front braking with two discs also does not fail at all, in addition to the adjustable lever feel being good. In the back, the shock absorber with links fulfills its task without compromising. It is in terms of ergonomics that this motorcycle presents some flaws, since the fact that the seats are independent removes the possibility for the rider to move a little further back. Therefore, ideally the rider should not be much more than 1.70m, otherwise the good riding position will be affected. Other details also worthy of improvement are the small passenger seat – which does not have rigid handles – the gear selector that is very close to the footrests, and the throttle grip that has too much travel. We twist the grip, twist, and it seems like we never reach the end, And some stickers also do not look very modern. As for the rest, many good things to point out, even the behavior of the Cordial tires, dry and in the rain, despite initial doubts. A very fun little motorcycle, very economical (average consumption around 3.9 l/100 km), with a great price and excellent warranty, so personally I consider this one of the most interesting Voge models in the current range. **VOGE 300AC**
