There are three rounds left in the MotoGP season, and Enea Bastianini is in the fight for third place, currently sitting fourth behind Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati). At the same time, his teammate Francesco Bagnaia is battling for the championship title.
If Bastianini had to choose between winning more races or finishing third in the championship, what would the Italian choose? The #23 replied: ‘Probably if I have more race wins I will be third in the championship’.
The Malaysian GP is where Bastianini seems to see the best chance of victory, as he mentioned: ‘Well, Sepang is one of my favorite tracks, we know that, and also in the past I was fast. Valencia… so, so, it’s not my favorite track. Here [at the Thai GP], I don’t know. I don’t have expectations for this Grand Prix. I have to do the maximum, that’s for sure, because I can get the third place in the championship, and I want to try to do it’.
Helping Bagnaia in the title fight isn’t a topic that has been discussed – Bastianini confirmed this when asked if the team had mentioned anything in that regard: ‘No, nothing’.
