Ducati may be limited in the possibilities for developing its MotoGP bike, but that hasn’t stopped it from shining in 2024. The Borgo Panigale manufacturer seemed to be one step ahead of its rivals with the new Desmosedici GP24 in preseason testing, and Mattia Pasini had the same feeling.
In an interview with MOW Mag, the Italian stated: ‘Ducati has been the Red Bull of MotoGP for some years now. In Formula 1, [Adrian] Newey started from a blank sheet of paper and is once again raising the bar even though he didn’t need to; Ducati is doing the same, while the others are always chasing after them’.
Regarding Ducati’s competitors, Pasini believes there has been one standout in terms of progress: ‘In my opinion, KTM has made the biggest step forward, Aprilia is right there with them, while I see Honda and Yamaha in a very deep abyss’.
