Davide Tardozzi lives MotoGP intensely and given the strong possibility of Jorge Martín being the future world champion of the category, he does not fail to remember that if he manages and uses the number 1 on his bike in 2025, it is important to remember that he managed to command a Desmosedici.
The factory Ducati Team Manager believes that the Spaniard, if he wins the MotoGP title, will use number 1 on his bike, as he explained to TNT Sports: ‘It’s obvious that if Jorge wins the title he will probably race with number one, because it’s something you can’t have every day. So you’ll want to have it on your bike.’
Martín, however, will have his farewell to Ducati this GP weekend in Barcelona, which he can consecrate with the title, and the Italian leader made a point of mentioning that, if he wins, #1 refers to a title achieved with a Ducati:
– But the big book of results will say ‘Jorge Martín – Ducati’. Number one is for the rider, but the machine is Ducati. For us it is not a problem. We will strive for number one to return in 2026. If he wins the championship, he can take number one with him, but he won with Ducati.
Aprilia Racing will welcome Martín and Marco Bezzecchi in 2025, completely overhauling its factory team, as Maverick Viñales moves to GASGAS Tech3/KTM and Aleix Espargaró abandons his full-time racing career to dedicate himself to being a test rider for Honda.
