The AMA Supercross is about to begin, with the competition kicking off this weekend, with the 450 and 250 classes in Anaheim at Angel Stadium.
Expectations are high and Jett Lawrence, the reigning champion, continues in Honda colors, as does his brother in the 450 class. In the Honda satellite team is Dylan Ferrandis, from whom a lot is also expected. And what about KTM, with Chase Sexton (reigning Pro Motocross champion) and Aaron Plessinger, who are usually very strong, are also opponents not to be forgotten.
Malcolm Stewart on the Husqvarna is one of the names to watch out for, as is Justin Barcia on the GASGAS. On the Yamaha Cooper Webb is highly competitive and considered an outsider, and with Eli Tomac who will be in his last season as a full-time rider, or at least that’s his intention and idea for now.
Christian Craig will be full-time in the 450 class but will be a key player in the 250 class, as support, with Justin Cooper as his colleague.
Jason Anderson can’t be ignored, as he’ll be joined by Jorge Prado on the Kawasaki. Colt Nichols and Kyle Chisholm will team up on the Suzuki, as will Ken Roczen, who will be with the Japanese manufacturer for another year.
There are many other riders on track, so the action in both categories will be exciting!
