The MotoAmerica Superbikes season has begun, with the first victory going to Cameron Beaubier. The opening round takes place at Barber Motorsports Park.
Beaubier (Tytlers Cycle Racing/BMW) secured pole position by beating Bobby Fong (Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha) by 0.160s. And in the first race, the battle for victory was between these two riders.
Beaubier led for most of the race, but Fong also took the lead at times and fought hard until the end: Beaubier won by just 0.833s, pushing #50 down to second place.
The podium was completed by Jake Gagne (Attack Performance Progressive Yamaha), who had a lonely race in third. Sean Dylan Kelly (Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki) and last year’s champion, Josh Herrin (Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati), rounded out the top five.
