Yamaha will benefit from having concessions and Cal Crutchlow, current test rider for the team, spoke on the matter and said that the manufacturer has a plan already set. He also revelead he will take part of three races… at least.
The british, who retired as a full time rider at the end of 2020 spoke Dorna about the new concession system that will, hopefully, help to put Yamaha back on the most competitive side of the paddock: ‘It’s all quite new. With the new – concession – rules, there are many different scenarios that could occur. But we already had a plan that I would most likely do three races as a wildcard rider’.
Even if three seems to be planned, the number can be higher: ‘I don’t think I’ll do more, but things change, and so do the rules! I know about two of the races as a wildcard rider, but another one is under negotiation because I definitely don’t want to do it. So we’re trying to twist it around a little bit’.
