The legendary Brough Superior SS100 celebrates 100 years of existence and will be the main attraction at the Ardingly Classic Bike Show & Jumble, organized by Elk Promotions, taking place in March at the South of England Event Centre in Sussex. The event promises an unforgettable journey through motorcycling’s past, highlighting iconic models and paying tribute to historical figures connected to this emblematic brand.
Created a century ago, the Brough Superior SS100 quickly earned the reputation of being the ‘Rolls-Royce of Motorcycles’, thanks to its innovative design and unmatched performance for its time. The event will also mark 90 years since the death of T. E. Lawrence, better known as ‘Lawrence of Arabia’, who owned several Brough Superior motorcycles and died tragically in an accident while riding an SS100 in 1935.
With support from the Brough Superior Club, the event organizers aim to gather examples of every Brough Superior model ever produced. Additionally, the main hall will display a vast collection of classic motorcycles from before 1980, as well as stands from various vintage motorcycling clubs.
The event will feature an area of nearly 8,000 square meters for displaying the Brough Superior motorcycles. Furthermore, there will be an autojumble exclusively dedicated to motorcycles, where visitors can find new and used parts, accessories, specialized clothing, tools, and much more. Both indoor and outdoor spaces will also feature various commercial stands and exhibitions from recognized brands.
The Ardingly Classic Bike Show will take place in Ardingly (postcode RH17 6TL), just 13 kilometers from junction 10 of the M23 motorway, near Gatwick. For visitors’ convenience, free parking will be available on site. For those arriving by motorcycle, a ‘Helmet Park’ will be available in The Stockman’s Building, ensuring a safe place to store helmets.
Adult tickets will cost £7 (approximately €8.20), while children under 16, when accompanied by an adult, will have free entry. ‘Early Bird’ tickets, which guarantee entry from 8:00 AM (two hours before general opening), will be available for those who want to make the most of this classic motorcycling celebration. The event will close around 3:30 PM.
With a program full of two-wheeled history and culture, the Ardingly Classic Bike Show promises to be a must-visit event for classic motorcycle enthusiasts and collectors. Don’t miss this opportunity to see some of the most iconic machines of the past century up close!
