After the rumors, here is finally the confirmation and the end of the soap opera: Miguel Oliveira is going to Pramac Racing, Yamaha’s new satellite team starting next year in MotoGP, signing with the Iwata-based manufacturer.
The confirmation was made official a moment ago and puts an end to the many rumors that described the Portuguese as being “closed” to the new Yamaha satellite team.
The contract lasts for two years, and Miguel Oliveira will have at his disposal the latest version of the Yamaha M1, with the same specifications as the bike of former world champion Fabio Quartarar and Álex Rins, who also renewed his contract with the japanese manufacturer just a couple of days ago.
With the move to Pramac, Oliveira will ride in the main category for his fourth team, after making his debut with Tech3 in the class in 2019. After a period of four years linked to KTM, where he was even in the factory team for two years, followed by the adventure with CryptoData RNF – Aprilia’s satellite – in 2023, a team that underwent a drastic change for 2024, becoming Trackhouse Racing, also an Aprilia satellite.
At 29 years old, Oliveira will have a new opportunity to show his talent at the highest level, now at Yamaha, as he is still the rider with the most victories working for KTM, five.
