A MotoGP rider never stops learning and has room for improvement, even when already competing at the top. Brad Binder, who finished fourth last year, feels that there are aspects he needs to improve as a rider that could be very useful to him in 2024.
The South African from Red Bull KTM started by talking about his performance in qualifying: ‘For me the big areas I’d like to improve in… Firstly if I can make the qualifying even a little bit better that would be a massive help because it’s so much easier when you get away with the top two/three guys and don’t get stuck on that bunch. So that’s one area I would like to improve’.
On the other hand, Binder aims to improve his tyre management: ‘The next area for me as a rider is that I want to be better on my tyres. I think that could go a long way. It’s important for us to be at the end of the races with the same amount of tyre life as our competitors, if not better. Whereas last year we were a little bit more in trouble. That’s one key area from myself that I want to work on – which is still going just as fast but being a little bit more kind to the tyre. If I can improve that, I’m confident that it will give me a lot more possibilities to be strong and fight hard at the end of the races’.
