After four seasons with RW Racing GP, Barry Baltus will switch teams for the first time in Moto2, competing with Fantic Racing in 2025. There, he will join this year’s world vice-champion, Arón Canet, as his teammate.
The 20-year-old Belgian hasn’t had particularly impressive results in the intermediate category – admittedly, he has been somewhat limited by his team’s capabilities.
Even so, Baltus has one podium finish to his name – he took second place at this year’s Qatar GP, a result he couldn’t follow up on, scoring points just four more times since.
The rider said in a press release: ‘I am very happy to join Fantic Racing and I will proudly wear its colours! It is a top-level team, ambitious and whose project corresponds to what I wanted for my career. They are constantly fighting for the top positions and I am very motivated to work with them. Many thanks to Fantic, my management Zelos, but also to all the sponsors and fans who support us. Now that everything is clear about the future, we can put all our energy into the end of the 2024 season, before starting this new challenge!’.
