This week, Andrea Dovizioso will participate in a private MotoGP test for Yamaha, scheduled for August 20th and 21st at Misano. He will be stepping in for Cal Crutchlow, who is still recovering from a hand injury.
In a press release, the Italian rider first acknowledged his former British rival, stating: ‘I am sorry that Cal is still not well, and I hope he recovers quickly’.
This test marks Dovizioso’s return to a MotoGP bike after almost two years – coincidentally at the same circuit where he competed in his last Grand Prix. The rider expressed his excitement:
– I am happy and excited to have the chance to get on a MotoGP bike again, and I would like to thank Yamaha for this opportunity. I hope I will be able to make my contribution to the development of the bike.
