The French city of Cahors was the stage for another historic chapter in motorsport this weekend, when Toni Bou, the extraordinary Repsol Honda HRC rider, claimed his 19th X-Trial world title, raising his impressive total to 37 world championships.
The Catalan secured the crown with one round still to be contested in the indoor season, following a brilliant campaign in which he has accumulated five victories so far, once again demonstrating his absolute dominance in the discipline.
Since joining Repsol Honda HRC in 2007, Bou has collected every available world title, becoming the ultimate icon of trial riding. Throughout his career, he has also claimed 18 titles in the TrialGP discipline, consolidating an unprecedented hegemony in both outdoor and indoor competitions.
His superiority also extends to team competitions, having won 19 titles in the Trial of Nations representing Spain, thus reinforcing his legendary status.
The statistics of the Montesa Cota 4RT rider are unmatched: in 120 X-Trial participations, he has reached the podium 106 times, a number that reflects his consistency and high competitive level. With each new triumph, the Repsol Honda rider continues to enrich his place in trial history, consolidating his position as the greatest of all time.
After securing this latest title, Toni Bou shared his joy: ‘I’m very happy. It’s clear that the goal was the title, right from the start. The season didn’t start the way we wanted in Madrid, but we managed to turn it around. We’re a very solid team, we don’t make mistakes and we’ve made it to every final possible. We’ve achieved many victories and I’ve ridden very well, so I’m really happy with the season and the title. It’s something very special, as you never know if it’s going to be the last. I’ve been very fortunate to win many more than I could have imagined, so I have to enjoy it’.
