Boscoscuro showed superior performance in the second practice session of the Moto2 Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, with Alonso López clocking the fastest lap and setting a new circuit record. He led ahead of his MB Conveyors SpeedUp teammate, Fermín Aldeguer.
In the early stages of the session, Izan Guevara (CFMoto Inde Aspar/Kalex) initially held the lead. However, as riders began to set their first valid times, six different riders briefly took the top spot.
Marcos Ramírez (OnlyFans American Racing Team/Kalex) was among these leaders and, on his second attempt, reclaimed the lead, maintaining his position for over fifteen minutes until being overtaken by López. This period saw three different Boscoscuro riders lead within about three minutes.
After López, Sergio García, Ai Ogura (MT Helmets-MSi), and Aldeguer each briefly commanded the top spot. López ultimately set a new record with a lap time of 1m49.926s on his final attempt, a time no one could beat. Aldeguer secured second place, trailing by 0.220s, with Ogura in third and García in fourth. Celestino Vietti (Red Bull KTM Ajo/Kalex) completed the top five.
Only one rider failed to achieve their best time in this session, which largely determined the combined standings. Jake Dixon (CFMoto Inde Aspar/Kalex) secured the 14th position, guaranteeing the last direct spot in Q2, just 0.030s ahead of Ramírez.
